SCENE I (MAGICIAN)/ 12 (HANGED MAN)

JACKAL 1/3rd calls for someone from the audience to put another coin in a slot of the Machine. When someone does so 'p-Chink' Lights fade up.
JACKAL 1 turns the WHEEL to its second position and the gears and cogs slowly start up again. Dim light fades up on battered FOOL lying prostrate.
HARLEQUIN SONG REPRISE:
CHORONZON (who is hanging upside down as THE HANGED MAN in front of the WHEEL and the TREE of LIFE MACHINE):
'The initiate was dealt with.
He was crossed and covered' -JACKALS 1 and 2 lay MAGICIAN and HANGED MAN cards at right angles over FOOL's body-
'...Helped and hindered, aided and abbetted,
Closeted and covetted then spread and scattered
Frail and tattered, though beaten and battered
His tether was lathered with� honey!'
Fool licks end of pack string, staggers up (like a machine starting up again) as JACKAL 2 moves Cards and stack them together next to previous 2 in Cardhouse.
FOOL (brushing himself down) becoming MAGICIAN : 'I've had enough of this. I'm going to exert my Will and take Destiny into my own hands!'
HANGED MAN: 'Yes, it is your pre-determined destiny to do so.'
MAGICIAN casts Fire with Staff (stick from his pack), Water with Cup (from his pack), Air with athame (from pack), Earth with pantacle (from pack).

Simultaneously JACKAL 1/3rd runs around presenting each element literally in appropriate direction.
The HANGED MAN mocks the ceremonial formality of the MAGICIAN, and contradicts his Control with Surrender.
The MAGICIAN starts Invoking his HOLY GUARDIAN ANGEL (HGA).
HANGED MAN laughs at him, saying it's already inside him.
MAGICIAN: 'I have to get a hold of this'
HANGED MAN: 'Just let go�'
MAGICIAN gets frustrated and despondent. He crumples as the gears of the Machine wind down.
Lights flicker and fade.
